Several training workshops in archaeological methods have been held for undergraduate and graduate students. The aim is to train students in archaeological methods that they can eventually use in their undergraduate and graduate projects. Some of these methods are ceramic classification and drawing, archaeological survey and mapping, and the use of GIS. The department aims to invite scholars from within and outside India who are specialized in the analyses of various kinds of archaeological materials, and methods of generating data.

Archaeological Mapping, November 2019
On 16th November 2019, another workshop on Archaeological Mapping was conducted at Siri Fort. This time, it was a day-long workshop for undergraduate and graduate students of Shiv Nadar University, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi University, and for the students of Indraprastha College and St. Stephen's College. Students spent the day learning how to take measurements using fibreglass tapes and folding rules and to draw scaled plans of structures.
