Archaeology Laboratory in SNU

The Department of History is pleased to announce the opening of an Archaeology Laboratory, conceived of as a space where students will learn certain lab-associated archaeological methods, such as classification and documentation. The current display is intended as a teaching tool to introduce students to different types of artefacts and ceramics produced over time. This will also function as a space for curating already existing collections, as well as those that can be built with our faculty archaeologists and fellow researchers in future projects.

  • Prof. Jaya Menon explains the artefacts at display.

  • Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Rupamanjari Ghosh, inaugurates the lab.
